Southern Scotland

A highly commercial property of 379 hectares within a very large forestry complex in southern Scotland. The property also benefits from a bothy in an isolated situation and a stream running through the centre. The property was purchased for a private individual in 1999 for a price of £500,000.

The property was planted in 1966-68 and harvesting started in 1995. In 2001 the owner died, and the property was inherited. The first harvest for the second generation was in 2002 and continued regularly until the final harvest in 2019.

In 2019 the property was split into 2 to release retirement funds with the sale of 205 hectares generating £1.4m, leaving the owner with 174 hectares worth £1.2m.

There will now be a pause until 2035 when the harvesting of the second crop rotation will commence.
